Mrs. Edgar Alexander Passes at Palo Alto
Mrs. Edgar Alexander (Gertrude Thayer) wife of Dr. Edgar Alexander, who was reported desperately ill in last week’s Journal, answered the final summons early last Friday morning at the Palo Alto hospital, following a long and baffling illness.
Everything known to modern medical science was tried to stem the progress of infection in the blood stream. Blood infusions helped to strengthen the patient, and she rallied several times, but last week the physicians in charge realized there was little hope.
Mrs. Alexander was the daughter of the late C. A. Thayer and Mrs. Thayer; sister of Mrs. Mabel Sesson, Mrs. Norma Raggio, Mrs. Dora Chapple and Raymond H. Thayer of Culloden Park. Besides her husband, two children survive, Gordon Alexander and Miss Patricia Alexander.
Dr. Lynn T. White, an old friend of the family, conducted the private funeral services which were held at Palo Alto, with cremation at Los Altos.
