Services for Sarah Bandes, former Marin resident, will be Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Ms. Bandes, who attended Marin Country Day School and was a graduate of Tamalpais High School, died Aug. 29 at home in Ann Arbor after a brief illness.
She was a doctoral candidate in medieval history at the University of Michigan.
After graduating from the University of California at Davis in 1970 she became an investigator for the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. Later, she became a certified financial planner and taught financial planning at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She also earned a masterís degree in history.
She hosted a weekly classical music program on public radio in Fort Collins. She collected art prints and glass, was a bird watcher and a world traveler.
She is survived by her father, Herbert Bandes of Hebron, Conn.; her mother, Joan Korach Downing of Pocatello, Idaho; a brother, Dean Bandes of Newton, Mass.; a sister, Hanna Bandes of Brighton, Mass.
A celebration of life will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Koessler Room of the Michigan League, Ann Arbor, Mich. A memorial rose garden will be established in her memory at the Pocatello Greenway.
