Elmore M. Day Dies At 48
Elmore M. Day of Mill Valley died yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness. He was 48.
Day, of 75 Marguerite Avenue, was formerly an associate dean at the University of California in Berkeley. He had been associated with the University of California Extension since 1962.
Previously he was associate director of the executive program in the Graduate School of Business of Columbia University, New York.
He was a native of Bristol, Conn., and had lived in Marin County for 10 years. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Polly) and his son, Jonathan Day, of the family home in Mill Valley, and also survived by his parents and two sisters, all of Connecticut, and a sister in New York.
Memorial services will be tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the Community Church of Mill Valley. Burial will be private.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.
