Auto Crash Victim In Serious Condition
Dr. C. B. Marston reports that Lew Hoffman, 57, struck down by an automobile on Lincoln Ave. yesterday afternoon is in a critical condition. He suffered fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a compound fracture of the left arm and a possible fracture of the skull.
According to the report of the accident, Hoffman had stepped out of his car and directly into the path of one driven by Rev. R. L. Raney, Petaluma minister. Raney brought the injured man to the hospital.
Hoffman has been living on a houseboat at Santa Venetia. His sons and daughters live in Oakland

Victim of Auto Crash Dies Here
Lewis Hoffman, 57, who was struck down by an automobile Friday afternoon on Lincoln Ave., died yesterday without ever regaining consciousness. The driver of the car which struck Hoffman was Rev. R. L. Raney, Petaluma minister. Hoffman is said to have stepped out of his car and into the path of Rev. Raney’s.
Hoffman had been staying on an ark at Santa Venetia and had been digging clams for a living. The body was taken to Grant D. Miller Funeral Home in Oakland. His wife is dead, but he is survived by a number of children, one of whom is Mrs. Fred Pimental, wife of the assistant fire chief at Albany.
