Betty Goldsmith Blumberg of Novato was a Navy veteran, an artist, homemaker, wife and a devoted mother.
Mrs. Blumberg died Oct. 21 in San Francisco. She was 74.
Mrs. Blumberg was born in Chicago and graduated for the Chicago Academy of Art. A Marin resident for 37 years, she lived in Sleepy Hollow for many years before moving to Novato in 1984.
She served in the Navy during World War II. She worked as a recruiter and also drew cartoons for military manuals.
Mrs. Blumberg became an accomplished artist in all media. She was also a sculptor and belonged to art associations in Marin.
She enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Blumberg is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Blumberg of Novato; two sons, Robert James Blumberg of Novato and Michael John Blumberg of Fairfax; and her sister, Mosette Morrison of Atlantic Beach, Fla.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at Valley Memorial Park, 650 Bugiea Lane, Novato.
