LeFEAVER, James H., Jr. - Died peacefully in San Rafael on March 30, 2000 at age 82. He was born in San Francisco, Ca on August 11, 1917 to Dorothy and James LeFeaver, a distinguished civil engineer and raised in Berkeley. He received his Baccalaureate degree in History at UC Berkeley in 1939 where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and rowed on the crew.
A Bronze Star recipient for service in WWII, he retired as Captain in the US Army Reserves. Mr. LeFeaver enjoyed a long and successful career in international business and the Foreign Service. Initially, he was a Petroleum Marketing Executive for Mobil Oil in Japan, Nigeria and the United States. He then transferred to the US Department of Commerce in International Trade Promotion primarily in Europe, throughout the Middle East, Yugoslavia and Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. LeFeaver moved to Villa Marin in San Rafael in 1995 where he was known for his courtly, kind and gracious manner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Olivia; a daughter, Daphne Ball; and two granddaughters; and many devoted friends.
A private memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
