Mrs. Mary E. Young
Mrs. Mary E. Young, wife of J. P. Young, passed away at her home in Blithedale avenue, on Saturday afternoon, April 23, after an illness of three weeks.
She was born on the 17th of May, 1837, in Kasson, Manitowoc county, Wisconsin, and was married in Seymour of the same State. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom survive her. She and her family came to Mill Valley in the spring of 1904 and this has been her home ever since.
Mrs. Young devoted wife and mother and a loyal communicant of the Catholic Church. She has been called upon to undergo very great physical suffering, during which her fortitude was unfailing. She was always cheerful and cheering others, not allowing them to think of her ills.
Beside her husband, there remain her sons, John S. of Santa Barbara, and John Peter Jr., Claude N., Harry A., and her daughter, Mrs. Robert Byrnes of Mill Valley. There are six grandchildren. There are also four sisters, among whom are Mrs. H. A. Heckman and Mrs. John Kelly, and four brothers, among whom is N. P. Yost. The late Harry Myers was a brother. In other States are the sisters, Mrs. H. P. Stevater and Mrs. A. Heckman, and the brothers, T. A., M. A., and John Myers.
Funeral services were held In Mt. Carmel Church, Monday morning and interment was at Fernwood.
