Eleanor Bruner Hyndman
Passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2002. Eleanor was born on October 21, 1905 in Geddes, South Dakota and lived on a farm with seven sisters and one brother. In 1932, she married Will Hyndman in Marcus Iowa, where they farmed for 40 years and raised two daughters. After Will's death, she moved to San Rafael in 1963 and worked at Marin General Hospital. Retiring at the age of 70, she took up Karate and earned her black belt in Karate at 94 years of age. Survivors include two daughters, four grandsons, a sister and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphaels Chapel, 1104 5th Street, San Rafael, on May 29th at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eleanor Hyndman Memorial Scholarship Fund at the East-West Karate School, 1414 4th Street, San Rafael, CA 94901.
