Innocente J. "Buzz" DeGottardi
Age 89, of San Rafael passed away in Greenbrae peacefully in his sleep on May 17, 2002 following a short illness. The son of immigrant Swiss dairy farmers Paolina and Innocente DeGottardi Sr., Buzz was born on the family ranch bordering Tomales Bay on April 12, 1913. He grew up on the farm and graduated from Tomales High School in 1933. Following in his parents footsteps he lived and worked on the dairy farm most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Luca DeGottardi, his sisters Lucy Barrett, Carrie Bordessa and Josephine Reilley. He is survived by three sisters, Rita Cerini of Cotati, Edith "Tootsie" Perolini and Elvetia "Betsy" Streckfus both of San Rafael and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 "E" Street, San Rafael on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. until 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Keaton's Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday May 22, 2002, followed by graveside services and burial in Olema Cemetery.
