Contests To Williams Estate Dismissed

After litigation lasting for about two years, the will of Mrs. Jennie E. Williams, who died in Mill Valley, is to be probated.

Through the negotiations of Attorney Joseph Hawkins with other attorneys, the four contests to the will which have been filed by relatives have been dismissed, and the big estate, increased considerably since the war by reason of the fact that much of it consisted of powder company stock, is to be distributed.

Attorney Hawkins represents Jennie A. Klose, who filed the first contest. His client was then made the defendant in suits filed by Mary Prior, Amos Williams and Richard Godsill.

With the other attorneys, Mr. Hawkins held a conference in San Francisco last week by which a compromise satisfactory to all concerned was effected.

The court immediately ordered a notice to creditors to be issued and the settlement of the estate will proceed.
