Frank B. Anderson’s Estate Is Appraised At $2,128,310.22
A fair market value of the estate of the late Frank B. Anderson, bank president, who died on September 17, 1935, is placed at $2,128,310.22, according to a report filed Friday with the State Treasury by Herbert de la Montanya, inheritance tax appraiser.
The late banker’s real estate holdings in San Rafael, consisting chiefly of residence property, is valued at $35,000. Shares of stock in Bank of California, N. A. of which he was president and chairman of the Board of Directors, is valued at $86,250; Calaveras Cement, $8,450; California Packing Corp., $435,771.09; Caterpillar Tractor Co., $861,764.06; Socony-Vacuum Corp., $244,771; are some of the larger stock holdings. Other stocks of lesser value, added to the above are estimated to make the total $2,128,310.
Deductions from the total, according to the appraiser’s report are $350,885.86, leaving a clear market value of the property at $1,777,424.36.
Included in the list of deductions are state and federal income tax, a total of $31,414.83; executor’s and attorney’s fees $44,226.10; expense of administration, $31,989.85; family allowance $60,000; and other expenses incident to deceased sickness and death.
Inheritance taxes to be paid into the state treasury call for a total of $95,940.99. This is to be paid by heirs, and others receiving the property, including: Corona W. Anderson, daughter-in-law $102,372.16; Lydia A. Butterfield, sister, $11,605.26; Edith F. Frehe, $27,808.61; Deborah Pentz, $27,808.61; Nina M. Rea, $5,977.42; Rose Burroughs, $2,684.41; Helga Mogstad, $2,684.41; William Buehl, $1,340.32; George M. Robinson, $1,340.32; Pasquale Regalia, $1,340.32; John Tennyson, $533.87.
The son, Berrien P. Anderson, received $55,625.00. Wm. L. Wilson, age 75, $300 per month for life, estimated at $18,565.56.
Elizabeth J. Anderson, widow, 69, on half of estate, $1,142,278.59.
Elizabeth A. Anderson, grandchild, one quarter remainder, $108,731.41.
Berrien P. Anderson, grandchild, $108,731.41; Florence C. C. Anderson, grandchild, $108,731.41.
Attorneys for the Anderson estate are Messrs. Pillbury, Madison and Sutro, Standard Oil Building, San Francisco, California.
