I believe you are referring to St. Paulus Lutheran Church and School. The church was at Eddy and Gough Streets. It burned to the ground on Nov 5, 1995, one of the saddest days in my life. I attended the school from 1st through 9th grade. My mother attended the school as well in the 1930s. The school closed in the 1990s due to lack of funding. After the fire, the church renovated the old elementary school to use for their services and to provide homeless services. The junior high building at Turk and Gough was recently sold, I believe, to Sacred Heart (I might be wrong on who it was sold to).
