John Robert "Bob" Morgan
John Robert "Bob" Morgan, a three-year resident of Turlock and father of Half Moon Bay resident John Aaron Morgan, died July 27 at age 61 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Mr. Morgan was born Nov. 10, 1944 in San Carlos. He served in the Army for two years and surveyed for the Honest John Missile. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science and worked as a computer manager for PG&E for 38 years. During that time he also worked for the PG&E main office in San Francisco, and coordinated intrastate projects.
Mr. Morgan also raised and showed dogs, and served as a Little League baseball umpire for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, computer gaming and baseball.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Paula L. Willmore of Turlock, his sons Robert L. Morgan of Belmont, Thomas E. Morgan of Lathrop, Calif. and John Aaron Morgan of Half Moon Bay, daughter Jennifer R. Preston of Crescent City, and 10 grandchildren.
He is also survived by brothers Tim Morgan of Boulder Creek and Kevin T. Morgan of Grass Valley, and sisters Mary Lou Leighton of San Carlos and Joyce Gerrard of Orange County.
Burial services were private. A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel in Turlock.
