“Located near the back of Buildings 104 and 105 is an area that that was described as a 'Spanish and Indian Cemetery' by the US Army in some of their earliest maps. It is unknown what was done to the cemetery in advance of the construction of both Buildings 104 and 105.”

“… The first cemetery at the Presidio, used by the governments of Spain and Mexico, was located to the east of the National Cemetery, adjacent to today's Parade Ground (see sign just north of the Visitor Center). Although this cemetery was never used to inter American dead, not long after the United States assumed control of the military post, the Army established a post cemetery on the current site of the National Cemetery. …All burials had transitioned to the Mission San Francisco cemetery by 1801.”
