At the graduation exercises of San Rafael Military Academy here on Friday, June 10, a number of Marin County boys will receive their diplomas.
John Grant Leibert, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Leibert, of Grand View, entered the academy as a freshman in September, 1930, completing the regular academic course inn two years and two summer sessions. This is one of the outstanding records in scholarship in the history of the school. The scholarship record was high, entitling him to membership in the scholastic Honor Society of the academy. Besides pursuing his usual academic activities, Leibert was a tower of strength at end on the football team and served as first baseman on the baseball nine this season. He is a corporal in the cadet corps.
Joseph G. Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Lewis, 66 Winship avenue, San Anselmo, entered the academy as a freshman in 1928. He made the football team and was a likely contender in track until an injury obliged him to devote his energy to studies.
Frederick A. Bentley, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bentley, 787 Fifth avenue, San Rafael, has completed a year of junior college work and expects to continue his education at the San Rafael Military Academy.
Fred A. Dusel Jr., son of Mr. Fred A Dusel, Kentfield, has distinguished himself as a scholar and done very well in his junior college year.
Louis James Liati, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Liati, 11 Palm avenue,
San Rafael, has been one of the outstanding athletes of the school. He
was captain of the baseball team, having played shortstop and also pitching;
also fullback on the football team and guard on the basketball team.
